One year membership of Craft Guild added to YCYW prizes
June 24, 2011
Free membership for a year of the Craft Guild of Chefs is the latest prize to be added to the list of chef prizes of this year’s Young Chef Young Waiter competition.
The new prize, courtesy of David Mulcahy, Culinary Director for Sodexo and Vice President of The Craft Guild of Chefs, is part of a list of prizes which also includes a three day educational visit to Champagne Laurent-Perrier for all chef and waiter finalists.
Prizes for national final winners include a visit to the Villeroy and Boch porcelain factory and a trip to Louis Jadot in Burgundy and Jean-Luc Colombo in the Rhône Valley, courtesy of Matthew Clark. Villeroy and Boch are also providing a set of wine glasses to all the winners.
The chef and waiter winners receive £1,000 each from the Savoy Educational Trust (£750 and £500 for second and third). Other prizes come courtesy of Wild Harvest providing a tour around the New Covent Garden Market and the opportunity to choose some produce, and a day out at one of Sodexo’s most prestigious contracts.
Chef and waiter regional finals take place on the 7 and 8 September in Darlington and 14 and 19 September in London and Maidenhead, and the finals at Westminster Kingsway College on 19 October.
Entries to the 2011 competition must to be in by 1st July – entry forms can be downloaded here. Further information can also be obtained from the competition organiser, Philippa Brady (020 7404 7744) or philippa.brady@bha.org.uk.
