We attended last week’s Copenhagen meeting of our EU hotel and restaurant confederation, HOTREC, allowing for detailed discussion with the European Commission officials responsible for VAT (they want to see fewer reduced rates!) and for the new Food Information Regulation. PPL- A good start

Jointly with the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA), the Bar Entertainment and Dance Association (BEDA, representing night clubs) and the Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (ALMR), we have responded to proposals by PPL (Phonographic Performance Ltd) for massive hikes in the fees for Specially Featured Entertainment- essentially playing recorded music at a dance/disco.
