Ways to increase your Facebook page’s organic reach

facebookWith the recent changes in Facebook’s algorithm which have negatively affected pages’ organic reach, it’s more important than ever to know what type of content will cut through the noise and bring people to your page who you can convert into sales. Here’s a few do’s and don’ts:

DO’s:

  • Post content that’s engaging, for example by asking questions. The algorithm will push posts getting a lot of engagement higher up in your fans’ news feeds, and it will be visible to more people.
  • Post links with thumbnails. The algorithm dislikes in-text links, so they will have a lower reach.

DON’Ts

  • Don’t spam your page with content thinking that the more you post, the higher chance of some of it reaching your audience. The higher the frequency of your posts, the lower organic reach they will have.
  • Don’t use hashtags, as these will result in decreased organic reach.

For a more in-depth explanation of how the algorithm works including what this means – “Newsfeed = I (interest) x P (post) x C (creator) x T (type) x R (recency)” and how you can make the most of it, go to our blog.
