Innovate UK to open competition in October to support projects to reduce salt, sugar, fat and/or increase dietary fibre. With up to £10m available for Collaborative Research & Development, the competition will support these aims ensuring that;
- any new materials are sustainably sourced
- calorific content is optimised ensuring healthy food and drink choices
- and that food and drinks remain appealing or increase in their appeal to humans
If of interest, Knowledge Transfer Networks (KTN) (http://www.ktn-uk.co.uk/) will be held on September 15 2015 in Birmingham and September 17 2015 in Manchester. The competition will open for 6 weeks on October 4 2015.
