Ryan Neil, Executive Head Chef at Cameron House Hotel has been name “Hotel Chef of the Year” by the Hotel Cateys at their prestigious award ceremony in London.
The Hotel Cateys - the Oscars of the catering industry recognise and celebrate the people and teams that work tirelessly in some of the country’s best hotels and the annual award ceremony is a highlight for the hospitality industry.
As executive chef at Cameron House, Ryan is in charge across the hotel's six kitchens - catering for over 1,000 covers daily and looking after a team of over 45 chefs and 25 kitchen porters and this award is the latest in a series of culinary accolades for Ryan.
Working his way from commis chef to executive chef in just over ten years, his creativity, passion for food and tireless energy is felt throughout Cameron House. Managing and working closely with an inspired and motivated team means plate after plate of exceptional food and first class service.
These high standards have led to such recognition as winner of an Acorn award, finalist for Chef of the Year at the 2013 CIS awards and finalist at the 2012 Hotel Cateys. Furthermore, Cameron House Hotel under Ryan’s management have just received a second AA rosette for the Cameron Grill restaurant.
Renowned for his passion for locally sourced produce, supporting small Scottish independent producers is paramount and Ryan was pivotal in developing the much talked about, “Salmon Table“ in the Cameron Grill and the partnership with Loch Fyne Oysters at Cameron House Boathouse.
