Congratulations to Drayton Manor Park on picking up five accolades at recent awards
Drayton Manor Park is celebrating after picking up an impressive five accolades at the prestigious NFU Mutual Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism Awards.
A special lunch ceremony was held at Alton Towers Resort on Monday 15th November to mark the occasion, where the popular family attraction picked up a range of much-deserved awards.
They scooped Gold in the Best Tourism Experience of the Year category for the infamous Drayton Manor Park Magical Christmas event 2015.
This event drew thousands to the park to celebrate during the festive season, where Europe’s only Thomas Land® was transformed into a magical land complete with a Castle of Dreams where visitors can spend some quality time with Father Christmas, regular snow showers and Fat Controller Christmas themed shows.
The judges felt that of all the variety of interesting events this year, Drayton Manor Park's Magical Christmas was consistently strong across all judging criteria in the category, pushing it ahead of the other entrants.
It's second Gold of the day arrived in the form of the Business Tourism category. This was awarded due to the exemplary service for all business visitors and delegates at not only the park but also the state-of-the-art hotel.
It also won Silver in the Hotel of Year category, a great step up from last year’s Highly Commended, demonstrating the venue's impressive improvement.
Not content with this, the park was also Highly Commended in both the Large Visitor Attraction category, for venues inviting more than 50,000 visitors a year and the Inclusive Tourism award for Drayton Manor’s continuing commitment to excellence in accessibility.
William Bryan, Managing Director of Drayton Manor Park, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to once again receive such recognition for our contributions to tourism in Staffordshire.
To pick up two Golds, a Silver and to be Highly Commended twice is all down to the hard work and dedication of our team without whom this wouldn’t be possible.”
Every year the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism Awards acknowledge entrants for their commitment to delivering excellent customer service, training and skills for employees, sustainability and environment; along with the entrants’ proactivity and dedication to best practice, quality of service and product.
