Sugar reduction – call for case studies and data

The BHA and its members are strongly committed to working with Government to address the complex and multi-faceted causes of obesity, including supporting the sugar reduction and reformulation programme.

Our industry has already made significant progress in reducing sugar, as well as salt, saturated fat and overall calories. To showcase this good work and promote good practice, the BHA are now collecting case studies of healthy initiatives that can be shared with the media and government.

We are calling for members to share any examples of good practice with us, including changes to own recipes and any examples of leveraging supply chains to reduce sugar, in addition to salt and saturated fat in procured products.

Each case study will help to strengthen our position that out of home food businesses are making big changes. We are also keen to work alongside members, and echo any PR initiatives that your businesses are already undertaking.

We understand that some members may not wish to publicly share case studies, however we are also interested in collecting facts and figures in confidence that can be used internally and during private meetings with members of parliament.

To share your examples of good practice email, gabriella.bittante@bha.org.uk.
