BHA Business Partner, Silver Lining Convergence, are delighted to have won 'Community Contribution of the Year' at the News' Business Excellence Awards 2016 on Friday 12th February 2016
Silver Lining are one of Hampshire’s largest growing IT and telecommunication managed service providers. Our solutions are underpinned by the ideal combination of innovation, assurance and experience.
Winning the award follows a number of Award successes for Silver Lining Convergence including winner of 'Innovation of the Year' at the News Business Excellence Awards 2015 and our recent request to continue as the British Hospitality Associations preferred supplier for IT and telecommunications.
Silver Lining has been supporting a number of local causes and charity events for some years now. However we have had the most involvement in The Cystic Fibrosis Trust and the Southampton Hospital Charity Adult CF Unit.
Silver Lining's HR Manager, Debbie Packer organised the Cystic Fibrosis-Autumn Ball during work time and raised a whopping £42k. Silver Lining made a number of company resources available to ensure all brochures, menus and flyers were created to the highest standard.
Silver Lining also provided a number of giveaways for the CF Ball auction. Debbie worked hard and spent 12 months organising a ball which was attended by approximately 300 people. Silver Lining's Graphic Designer Luke Atkin and Marketing Manager Frances Sturt helped with social media and PR, in house developer Dan Shilcock built the website and MD Allan Packer contacted all of our suppliers and customers for sponsorship, prizes and table sales.
The money raised was given to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and the Southampton Hospital Charity Adult CF Unit to improve treatment and the quality of lives of the patients using the service which covers nearly the whole of Hampshire and an area along the south coast from Chichester to Bournemouth.
CF Trust Carol Hunt said "The huge amount of effort and hard work that has been put into this event by Debbie and the team at silver lining has really paid off. Not only have they demonstrated exceptional professionalism in the way this event has been organised and executed, they have increased the profile of the cause and raised a huge amount of money that will help improve and touch the lives of many people".
Silver Lining also support the young adults at the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Unit at the Southampton General Hospital. The Unit cares for over 200 patients from the Southern region. These patients spend weeks to months each year in isolation care to try to prolong their life expectancy. Only half of those with CF can expect to reach their 40th birthday. Silver Lining support two elements of the Southampton General Hospital Charity; high speed Internet, IT infrastructure and media services, provisioning, management and support. And secondly patients now have access to iPads, provided free of charge by Allan Packer the MD, free apps on the iTunes store which Allan pays for himself, laptops, large flat screen TV’s and unlimited free internet, which helps to improve their time spent at the hospital.
