Exclusive Hotels and Venues has presented three of its stand-out employees with coveted WOW awards, and long standing team members - including those serving for more than 30 years - have been recognised in an annual celebration marking 35 years in business for the independent British country house hotel group.
Designed to recognise and reward team members that go above and beyond for guests as well as celebrate outstanding achievements for those that fully embrace the ‘delivering wow experiences’ philosophy of the group, the WOW awards are presented annually by Danny Pecorelli, Managing Director.
Group Manager of the Year was awarded to Jamie Brown, Executive Chef at Royal Berkshire, an Exclusive Venue in Ascot, Group Employee of the Year was presented to Rob Preston, 1st Assistant at The Manor House, an Exclusive Golf Club in Castle Combe near Bath, and the overall Group WOW of the year was awarded to Jake Bull, Apprentice Gardener at Lainston House, an Exclusive Hotel near Winchester.
Jake Bull, was awarded the coveted top WOW prize for his determination and commitment to the role whilst actively studying part time. Jake has moved around the group into his current role within the grounds team where he demonstrated great flexibility and reserve in the absence of his team and going out of his way, daily, to exceed guest expectations.
Jamie’s Manager of the Year award was presented in recognition of his outstanding achievement in the kitchen, including the introduction of a successful new Afternoon Tea menu at the Berkshire venue, producing new simple yet effective ‘Easy Menus’ for meeting delegates and a reduction in staff turnover all contributing to a fantastic year for the team. Jamie, who has been with the company almost eight years, has also been instrumental in supporting the aspiring young chefs within the Exclusive Chefs’ Academy and is a regular personality at SEASON, The Exclusive Cookery School, delivering his Fish Masterclass on several dates since its inception last summer.
Rob Preston, with Exclusive for three years, has been recognised for his role as Acting Team Leader at the golf club at The Manor House, delivering a consistent approach to training and development with an admirable structured and organised attitude that sees him deliver above and beyond the call of duty day after day.
Danny Pecorelli commented, “I am immensely proud of our team at Exclusive and delighted to present these awards, in this celebratory year, to our stand-out employees who thoroughly deserve recognition for going that extra mile. As well as demonstrating commitment on a day to day basis, our WOW winners do that little bit more, and that matters a lot, both to our guests and to us as Exclusive People who appreciate every effort made to ensure we create memorable experiences, always.”
With as many as seven finalists in each category, the runner up prizes were awarded to Liz Brookes, Conference & Banqueting Manager at South Lodge for Group Manager of the Year, Russel Hickey, Senior Sous Chef at Fanhams Hall for Group Employee of the Year and joint WOW runner ups were awarded to Jamie Dunstan, Accounts Assistant at South Lodge and Stephen Davies, Assistant Head Concierge at Pennyhill Park.
