BHA responds to the warehouse fire in Blochairn Fruit Market in Glasgow

Willie Macleod, Scottish Executive Director of the British Hospitality Association, said:
“Any disruption to supplies of fresh produce (fruit, vegetables, fish - and flowers) will have an impact on hospitality businesses and caterers, as well as retailers - many of whom rely on daily deliveries. Although the impact of this serious fire may not be clear for a few days in the short term customers might see menus adjusted and alternative products used. Businesses are resilient so will already be looking at alternative arrangement for their customers. The BHA will provide assistance to any members affected by the incident.”
