The British Hospitality Association (BHA) can now offer its members greater health and safety reassurances through an agreement with compliance partner Acoura to offer all members access to a 24 hour health and safety helpline.
Working with businesses across the food and drink supply chain, environmental health specialists Acoura will provide expert advice and assistance to all members through a dedicated health and safety helpline. The service includes immediate out of hours access to a health and safety expert in the event of urgent health risks to BHA Members’ staff or customers.
Phil Wade, Marketing Director at the BHA said of the partnership: “As a members’ benefit this service could make a real difference in ensuring hospitality providers follow best practice in the event of an accident or incident. Nobody ever wants be in a position where they have a serious safety incident on their premises, but knowing you have access to an expert day and night who can advise you on how best to react could prove invaluable.”
Acoura have been providing environmental health and food safety solutions for a wide range of UK customers since 1988 and specialise in brand protection and risk management for pubs, hotels, cafes and restaurants.
Managing Director Stuart Kelly said of the move: “While we hope there isn’t a huge demand for this service, we feel it’s an important one to offer BHA members. Accidents and incidents can arise through any number of different reasons, the key to dealing with them and ensuring they don’t happen again is to ensure that those involved are given specific expert assistance and help as soon as possible. This added safeguard will hopefully give BHA members extra peace of mind when it comes to protecting their staff and customers.”
In addition to this new helpdesk service, the BHA have also negotiated a 10% discount for BHA members on a range of food safety services and products offered by Acoura. This includes a discounted rate for the CPD training course launched to support the BHA’s updated Catering Guide.
