Nick’s 35 year career, mostly within high profile destination resorts, golf courses or spa specific projects, started at The Gleneagles Hotel in the 80s before becoming General Manager of Craigendarroch Hotel in Ballater, then opening Cameron House as Managing Director in 1989. From the mid-90s, he became involved with the opening or development of a number of award winning golf and leisure projects around the Midlands and South West as board director and consultant.
In 2008 he returned to Resort Management, opening Rockliffe Hall Hotel, Spa and Golf Course in County Durham, achieving 5 stars within 12 months and last year awarded red star status, along with a number of other significant hotel, spa and golf industry accolades. Later this year Rockliffe will host the PGA’s English Senior Open for the second year in succession. In recent years the hotel has also been named VisitEngland’s Large Hotel of the Year.
Last year he became a Master Innholder and currently chairs the BHA North of England region as well as being an active member of the North East Hoteliers association.
