Regional General Manager, Hilton Worldwide
Stewart grew up in his parent’s hotel and is a career hotelier with over 30 years’ experience in hotel operations.
Following a degree in Hotel and Catering Management from Strathclyde University, he joined Embassy Hotels where he progressed from Trainee Manager to General Manager over a period of 8 years working in London, Inverness and Aberdeen.
Following this, Stewart joined Marriott Hotels in 1993, initially in Aberdeen. Following a stint in Manchester he moved to Newcastle where he became Cluster General Manager for the North East of England with responsibility for 4 Marriott units until leaving the company in 2008.
Stewart joined Hilton in October 2008, originally as Area General Manager for the North of Scotland. This remit has changed on several occasions during his tenure with Hilton to include hotels throughout all of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Currently, Stewart is a Regional General Manager for Hilton International, overseeing a portfolio of 10 hotels throughout the UK. The hotels are diverse in nature, covering 3 Hilton brands and including resort style hotels, airport locations and larger convention hotels.
Stewart has four children and is a keen sportsman, enjoying running, cycling and rugby.
