Deregulation – Government starts to move

The proposals are mainly modest, but, for the first time, the Culture Department has issued details of deregulation plans emerging from its online Red Tape Challenge. In particular, design and location of smoke free signs in England will be up to the proprietor, legislation is anticipated to reduce the licensing regime affecting B&Bs which sell small amounts of alcohol, and licensing application forms are to be simplified.
