The Food Standards Agency has commissioned Greenstreet Berman Ltd to develop a method to help improve staff attitudes towards food safety and food hygiene. This work is prompted in part by a fatal outbreak of E. coli O157 in South Wales in 2005 which highlighted the importance of staff behaviours in businesses, particularly their attitudes towards applying good food hygiene working practices. BHA and BBPA win commons battle on food hygiene ratings display

The British Hospitality Association and the British Beer and Pub Association have won a legal battle to prevent the compulsory display of food hygiene ratings in London. Earlier this week, they petitioned successfully in a Commons Committee against a Bill from the London Boroughs which had proposed that food hygiene ratings should be compulsorily displayed. The Committee rejected the proposal after the two associations said that the Boroughs were “jumping the gun” …
