LOBBYING:

The BHA ensures your voice is heard at local, regional, national and international levels, influencing key industry decision makers and helping to shape policy and minimise the burden of new legislation.

The BHA Council and National Executive convene regularly and there are also eight regional committees which meet three times a year in various parts of the UK to discuss the organisation's lobbying work and current activities. These committees are a crucial link with members and help formulate the BHA's policies.

ADVICE:

Members have access to two free helplines offering first-stage advice. These services are provided by leading specialists and are particularly invaluable to our independent members:

The legal helpline provides business support advice on employment, commercial and company law, as well as health and safety matters.

The accountancy and tax helpline provides advice on all accountancy related issues including VAT, tronc schemes and service charges.

SAVINGS:

BHA Procurement is an exclusive savings service for members committed to searching out the best deals on energy, telecoms, office supplies and waste disposal & compliance.

Special offers on a wide range of essential services and products are also available to members from our Patron Suppliers. These may vary from time to time and a full list can be found on our website, but they include:
  • Extremely competitive debit and credit card rates
  • Discounts on recruitment advertising
  • Bespoke and attractive insurance cover
  • Discounted health, dental and travel insurance
  • Savings on food service uniform, footwear and knives
  • An attractively priced fire risk assessment toolkit
COMMUNICATIONS:

The BHA website is a dynamic resource tool for members and offers a wealth of detailed information on all of our activities, and includes a lobbying round-up, downloadable documents, industry news and details about upcoming events.

Members receive a regular business update email containing valuable insights into legislative announcements and regulatory reform, along with a fully searchable archive of must-have information.

A fortnightly e-zine is also sent to members to round up BHA and industry events, inform members of the latest news and publicise new benefits in conjunction with BHA Patron Suppliers and Corporate Partners.

EVENTS:

There are a host of networking events running nationally throughout the year which allows members to meet others in the industry, share experiences and build relationships of mutual benefit.

These events are diverse so there is something to suit everyone and can range from a small informal gathering to the prestigious annual BHA luncheon.

COMMITMENT:

To ensure your customers and your staff recognise your commitment to the hospitality industry, the BHA supplies a range of materials to promote your membership - a membership certificate, window sticker, a logo (for use on letterhead, in advertisements and on your website) and a plaque to display externally.

Membership of the BHA is a recognised mark of trust and use of the logo will ensure staff and customers know they are dealing with a professional establishment.
