The Young Chef Young Waiter competition is back for 2010 and is looking for talented young industry professionals to compete in two regional finals.

Do you have the passion to win?
If you thrive on passion for your profession and are 25 or under at 31 December 2010, then watch your career take off and bring recognition to your establishment by entering the UK's premier chef and waiter competition. Compete side by side with some of the industry's top young talent - your future peers - under the watchful eye of an unrivalled roll call of judges boasting a plethora of Michelin stars.

What’s the benefit to the employer?
All top restaurants need to provide the career support to nurture the talent for the future. Young Chef Young Waiter is an event worthy of investment for both our business and our young employees.

What will you be tested on?
Entrants must complete the entry form and answer the relevant questions. Twelve chefs and twelve waiters will then be selected for each of the regional finals, from which four chefs and four waiters from each regional final will go forward to the national final.

At the regional finals, chefs will be tested on their cooking skills including butchery, theoretical knowledge and ability to create a dish from surprise ingredients.

Waiters will attend tutorials in water, wine, coffee and cheese and will then undertake lunch service for a table of two guests, including wine service, and an interpersonal skills interview.

For the national final, each chef will be paired with a waiter to prepare and serve lunch to invited industry guests.
