HOSPA Finance Members’ Meeting

HOSPA"Troncs and RTI, plus top tips for avoiding common tax pitfalls”

The HOSPA Finance committee have organised a members' meeting to be held on Tuesday 15th October on the topic of understanding troncs and employment tax issues in the hospitality industry.

Presented by:
Jon Claypole, Partner - Tax Investigations, Mazars
Nick Bustin - Senior Tax Manager, Mazars

Jon Claypole and Nick Bustin will cover how the introduction of a tronc can produce an almost unique win/win situation for employers by giving a net payrise to your staff at no cost whilst also reducing your salary costs.

If you are already running a tronc then this is an opportunity to have a "healthcheck": are you complying with the rules laid out in the HMRC guidance booklet E24? and how does RTI affect you? Perhaps you are facing an HMRC investigation? Come along to ask questions of a former tax inspector!

Salary Sacrifice arrangements can provide additional savings for employers and Jon and Nick will share their experience from many years of working for hospitality sector clients, discussing various issues where mistakes are commonly made, causing employers unexpected costs. Topics covered will include:

  • Troncs
  • Salary sacrifice
  • NMW
  • Entertaining
  • Late night taxis

Cost: Free of charge to both members and non-members.

Registration is necessary to attend. To register your place at this event, please email wayne.gosden@hospa.org with your details or register now to book your place online.
