BHA issues service charge voluntary code

The British Hospitality Association have published a voluntary code of practice on service charges and are urging restaurants, including hotel restaurants, to disclose to customers exactly how they deal with discretionary service charge and non-cash tips.

Turnover in the food and service management sector increased marginally in 2009 to £4.2bn, the annual survey of the British Hospitality Association’s Food and Service Management Forum has revealed.
