Matthew Hancock – MP Minister of State for Skills and Enterprise

Matthew was appointed Minister of State for Skills and Enterprise in October 2013. He is the Conservative MP

for West Suff olk.

After becoming an MP for West Suff olk, Matthew was elected to the Public Accounts Committee, which

scrutinises and questions the way that Government departments spend taxpayers’ money, and the Committee

on Standards and Privileges that adjudicates on MPs’ conduct.

In September 2012 Matthew was asked to become Minister for Skills in the Department for Business and

Department for Education. In September 2013 he was promoted to become Minister of State for Skills and

Enterprise, adding responsibility for small business to his existing responsibilities for Apprenticeships and

technical education.
