“Smith” of Smithfield is the grade 2 listed four-floor restaurant in the heart of smithfield market – London’s only working meat market.
Headed up by John Torode, the restaurant’s priority has always been to serve simple food made from the finest ingredients, served in a friendly way in a relaxed atmosphere.
The impressive building was lovingly restored by the “Smiths” team with architects wells mackereth, having stood empty for over 40 years. There’s a definite New York feel to the overall style with plenty of open space, blasted brickwork, big windows and comfy leather seating. Each of the floors has a distinct style – food, design and atmosphere – offering pretty much somthing for everyone depending on mood, budget or time.
