Welcome to The Hazelwood where we offer you comfortable and stylish accommodation with a private car park in the very heart of York only 400 yards from York Minster.

Built in 1862 it comprises two Victorian town houses with many original features and is located in the Gillygate (named after St. Giles church) conservation area adjacent to the ancient city wall.

The atmosphere is friendly and informal; relax with a cup of tea or coffee in the cosy lounge with its original kitchen range and interesting collection of books or on a summer evening with a glass of wine in our small walled garden.

We are licensed and can offer a choice of wines including champagne. For special occasions we can also supply flowers and chocolates.

The bedrooms have been tastefully furnished and individually styled. They all have en-suite bathrooms and central heating and contain colour T.V., radio alarm, hairdryer, tissues and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. Home made biscuits are offered on arrival.

All double rooms have pocket sprung mattresses and most have four poster or king(5ft) beds. We have a double and a twin room on the ground floor.

All the bathrooms have toilets and showers with many also having bathtubs. They are bright and imaginatively lit and well stocked with quality toiletries.
