Professor Nigel Morgan is Chair of Tourism & Events Marketing at the University of Surrey’s world-leading

School of Hospitality & Tourism Management (ranked #1 in Europe and #4 in the world for its tourism teaching

and research, http://www.surrey.ac.uk/shtm). An energetic advocate for the sustainable and inclusive

development and marketing of cities, regions and countries, Prof. Morgan has published 20 books (including

the leading textbook Destination Branding: Managing Place Reputation), with translations in Chinese, Russian,

Spanish, Italian, Korean and Turkish. He is a regular international keynote speaker and media commentator on

tourism and events marketing and social media and co-chairs the Destination Branding & Marketing Conference

Series. Prof. Morgan is UK & Europe editor of the Journal of Destination Marketing & Management and an

editorial board member of several leading journals (including Place Branding & Public Diplomacy) and the Place

Branding Yearbook.
