Law Express

Law Express is one of the UK’s leading providers of telephone legal advice, on-line legal information and legal support services. The company was founded in 1996 to provide high quality, impartial and professional telephone legal advice to many of the most forward thinking UK-based organisations including the Institute of Directors, the Institute of Healthcare Management, the Institute of Marketing, the Chartered institute of Personnel and Development, the John Lewis Partnership, and the Royal Bank of Scotland. Law Express handles in excess of 35,000 calls per anum and over 1.5million Company directors, affinity members and company employees have access to this world class service.

In addition to our affinity and corporate clients we work in partnership with the UK’s major Employee Assistance Programme providers including Ceridian, Validium, CIC, Dovedale and Oakdale where we support the clinical counselling process with legal advice and guidance for employees. We also work with Flexible Benefit providers and Insurance clients who require legal advice to support their policy holders.

Our aim is to provide a gateway to telephone legal advice and online legal information for corporate employers, company employees, small businesses and members of the public. Our specialist in-house team of non-practicing solicitors who have at least five years’ post qualification experience give practical advice on legal business issues such as employment law, contract and company law, marketing law, health and safety and tax advice. For the members of the Old Pocklington Association we can advise individual personal callers on personal legal issues including family, property, wills and probate, personal injury, motoring, property and employment law.

The call process

Our hours of operation are from 08:00 – 20:00 Monday to Friday, and 09:00 – 12:00 on weekends. During these hours, our in-house UK-based call-handlers ask for basic information from the member, verifying that they have access to the service and ascertaining the area of law they require help with.

The call is then allocated to an adviser who specialises within that area of law, and the call is returned within the hour. If a caller requests to speak to an adviser straight away we will do our best to accommodate them. Calls may be recorded for training and compliance purposes and this information is retained on our system indefinitely. This preserves the user’s confidentiality, while at the same time allowing us to monitor the accuracy of the advice provided and establish training requirements

UK wide ‘Find a Lawyer’ service

For clients that require follow-up action from a practising solicitor they can be immediately connected to a law firm suited to their needs in terms of the area of law, price-point and geographical location. We also have a number of specialist firms who will deal with the specific issues surrounding Personal Injury, Immigration and Debt Management.
