BUYER SPOTLIGHT: Supermarket, Asda

We support small suppliers to bring their unique, quality goods to our customers at a pace of growth that matches their ambition and is sustainable for everyone. Today over 500 local producers supply ASDA with over 6,000 great value local lines, many choosing to distribute their products via our nine hub network that covers 16 British regions. more
SALSA ON THE ROAD:
SALSA food visits Food Expo

As one of the owners of the scheme, the NFU has taken on the role of marketing for SALSA and for the first event, took SALSA to Food Expo in March. This was to promote the benefits of the scheme to both trade buyers and suppliers. Food Expo takes place every two years at the NEC and is the UK's largest food and drink exhibition. more
Grants and Funding

Have you ever wondered why it always seems to be other businesses' getting grant-aid to help with their development and not yours? The answer is probably because someone is helping to cut through the red-tape, and this is exactly what Food Fix have been able to achieve to help small and medium sized food businesses work towards SALSA approval. more

SALSA GROWTH:

SALSA has been going from strength to strength with a busy start to the year. January saw the launch of Issue 2 of the SALSA Standard, the minor changes to the Standard have been very well received with very few problems. 2009 saw Scheme growth over 2008 increase by 51% and 55% respectively for membership and audits booked. Encouragingly this growth is visible this year with February producing a record month for members joining the Scheme, all keen to source the guidance SALSA offers and gain approval as soon as possible. more
