Beyond the magnificent facade of the Mansion House which greets guests on arrival, lies a 5 star hotel on the border of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, which is like no other in the home counties. However, our guests quickly discover that behind the imposing grandeur of Luton Hoo, the atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. Excellent transport links between St. Pancras and Luton Parkway railway stations mean we are as easily reached from London as we are from nearby Cambridge. And Luton Airport puts us in touch with cities from all over Europe. The pillared halls and elegant lounges, individual period rooms, formal gardens and the award-winning Wernher Restaurant create a unique ambience of gracious living which is without equal in the locality. The Country Club is set within a Grade II* listed Robert Adam courtyard which previously formed the stables of the mansion house. It offers a superbly appointed Spa, an indoor pool with a view onto woodlands and relaxed dining in the Adam’s Brasserie.
Here you can also enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Adam’s Bar and The 19th which is very popular with golfers who have just completed our championship 18 hole par 73 golf course. By contrast, Warren Weir forms a world of its own. This ultimate exclusive use venue is surrounded by tumbling water, and features light and airy function rooms for business meetings, special occasions and weddings, or any event where the emphasis is on complete privacy. Replenishing the natural habitat of Luton Hoo has been just as important to us as restoring the Mansion House to its former glory. Beyond the formal gardens, designed by Capability Brown, stretch over 1,000 acres of glorious parkland, meadows, woodlands, lakes, rivers and nature trails to be explored. Not all luxury hotels in Hertfordshire or Bedfordshire are the same, and at Luton Hoo there is simply so much to enjoy and experience that we have our own fleet of specially customized London taxis to ferry our guests around the estate. The only difference being that our taxi cabs are free.
Luton Hoo certainly sets the standard for all the other luxury hotels in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire to follow. There is a wide range of room and suite options to suit your taste and budget, and each one has been individually furnished and decorated to reflect its unique character, sometimes featuring silk lined and panelled walls, marble fireplaces and ornately decorated ceilings. Nearly all of the rooms also afford stunning views of the gardens and rolling parkland beyond.
The Parkland wing, a short walk from the Mansion House, has 38 air-conditioned bedrooms and suites, each equipped with flat-screen LCD television and broadband. Ground floor room and suites have their own private terraces, but to get the full effect of the sweeping views across the grounds the Roof Garden Suite is unmatched.
The Club House, built into the Grade II* listed Robert Adams stables which also houses the Spa, comprises 12 bedrooms with oak beams and vaulted ceilings. Some of the rooms have four-poster beds and are furnished and equipped with the golfer and Spa guest very much in mind.
Similarly, The Flower Garden wing, adjacent to the Spa, offers another 59 air-conditioned bedrooms and suites. And Warren Weir, a private, virtually self-contained venue, tucked into a loop of the River Lea, offers another 84 tastefully furnished bedrooms for both private functions, weddings and business events. Renowned amongst Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire luxury hotels for the quality of its facilities and service, at Luton Hoo you will enjoy the height of comfort.
The golf course at Luton Hoo is 7,107 yards long and par 73 off the championship tees. A serious test for all levels of golf with a choice of 4 different tees to play from. Our ladies course is 6,143 yards.
It’s not every day you get to tee off and play 18 holes that wind their way through gardens designed by Capability Brown. And by the time you’ve sunk your first putt we sure you’ll agree that few Bedfordshire golf courses, or golf courses in Hertfordshire for that matter, are as beautiful as the 18 hole Championship course at Luton Hoo.
Landscaped sympathetically into the grounds, the course stretches over 250 acres, and has also benefitted from an extensive tree planting programme making the course as easy on the eye as it is exciting to play.
The course meanders through breathtaking countryside and at intervals offers glimpses of the lakes and Mansion house peeping through the trees, and many of our golfers have commented that the last nine are a particular joy to play.
All the tees and greens qualify to USGA standards, and the word in the golfing world is that it won’t be long before Luton Hoo hosts a major event. But you can enjoy playing this most special Bedfordshire golf course any time throughout the year
From a quick facial or pedicure to complete spa days of indulgent pampering, every spa experience and beauty treatment at Luton Hoo is highly unique. That’s because we have created a number of exclusive spa blends inspired by flowers and herbs found on the Luton Hoo estate. This is just one of the ways that the spa at Luton Hoo is distinctly different to others in Bedfordshire or neighbouring Hertfordshire.
We also offer a wide range of beauty therapies, body treatments and massages where guests can relax in quiet contemplation under the skilled hands of our therapists, who work with a specially produced range of organic oils made by aromatherapists from natural ingredients. The beautifully appointed spa is housed within the original stables courtyard, and has been designed to create a calming and relaxed atmosphere where you can totally unwind. We always try to make sure that each one of our guests leaves feeling totally relaxed and rejuvenated, not just from head to toe but in mind and spirit as well.
Our light and airy oak framed swimming pool looks out over woodland and is ideal for an early morning swim, or a dip at the end of the day. Enjoy an all together different kind of experience at what is fast becoming the favourite spa in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, not only for residents but for those spa seekers in London who want to escape the city and enjoy the beauty of the country
Wining & Dining
From grand and gracious dining to a more informal and intimate experience, Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa offers superb cuisine in the manner of a bygone age.
The Werner Restaurant
For exquisite fine dining there can be few more spectacular settings than The Wernher Restaurant, named after one of Luton Hoo’s most distinguished former owners. This part of the Mansion House was extensively remodelled in the early 20th century by the architects of the Ritz Hotel in London. It’s exotic marble panelwork and richly coloured fabrics are reminiscent of the Palace of Versailles.
The Adam’s Brasserie
Housed within the historic Stables building, designed by the distinguished 18th century architect Robert Adams, is The Adam’s Brasserie, offering a slightly more informal style of dining compared to The Wernher Restaurant. The décor of Adam’s Brasserie is bright and contemporary, its walls lined with stills from many films and TV shows which have been shot on location at Luton Hoo.
Meetings & Events
For business clients looking for the perfect conference venue in Luton, Bedfordshire or Hertfordshire, Luton Hoo is ideally placed, being well served by road, rail and even air links. Our conference and meeting rooms are fully equipped with up to the minute technology for presentations and can be adapted and tailored to suit all types of business meeting and audience. Weddings & Honeymoons
Wedding venues in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire do not come any more romantic than the 18th century Mansion House setting at Luton Hoo.
It might seem strange to think of somewhere as grand as Luton Hoo as being a romantic hideaway, but Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh often returned to Luton Hoo in the early years of their marriage to celebrate their wedding anniversary. It would seem that weddings at Luton Hoo come with a certain Royal approval.
The grade II listed Mansion House creates one of the most impressive looking wedding venues in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. Its history, marble interiors and beautiful period rooms, including a spectacular converted Orthodox Russian Chapel, are enough to make any bride feel like a princess on her wedding day.
From an intimate gathering of close family and friends to a wedding party of 300 guests, we offer beautifully appointed rooms which range from the intimacy of the walnut panelled Churchill Room to the Faberge Suite with its pillars, alcoves and artworks recalling the days when the Mansion House was home to one of the world’s richest collections of Faberge pieces. Even more spectacular is the Romanov Suite, with its stained glass and icons recalling its days when it was the private chapel of the Russian born lady of the house. Today, it creates the most romantic of settings for a wedding party on a grand scale. We can even add a dash of movie star magic to the proceedings. The original Robert Adam designed ballroom played host to the filming of Four Weddings And A Funeral. While outside the formal gardens and grounds offer dozens of stunning locations for those all important wedding photographs that will bring back memories to last a lifetime.
Our wedding co-ordinator is waiting to discuss your personal requirements or can tell you all about our special wedding packages. Many of the rooms are also licensed to hold civil ceremonies. But however you to choose to celebrate this most special day, romance reaches the height of style and sophistication at Luton Hoo, setting it apart from other wedding venues in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire
