The Cavendish Hotel

Cavendish HotelThere has been an Inn here for so long that is uncertain when it was first built.

It became part of the Devonshire family’s estate around 1830 when it was acquired from the Duke of Rutland. It was named the Cavendish (formerly the Peacock Inn), after extensive renovations in 1975.

You will find peace within the building, with its elegant rooms and magnificent views over the Estate towards Chatsworth itself.

Add to this the hotels enviable location, close by so many other wonders of the Peak District and one starts to appreciate the possibilities of a memorable stay

All of our bedrooms are well equipped with crisp linen, fluffy towels and robes – all the little touches that make the difference.

We are able to offer two primary types of accommodation – Standard and Inn Rooms, not forgetting the alubrious and magnificent Redesdale Suite.

Dining at The Cavendish is always immaculate. Imaginative dishes, friendly, unobtrusive service in relaxed surroundings.

If we can make it we will – bread baked fresh every day, homemade jam and of course our famous marmalade.

The Boardroom at The Cavendish Hotel is situated on the ground floor overlooking the garden. It is furnished with red leather upholstery, antique brass lights, fine lithographic prints and features an open fireplace.

The room is designed for meetings, receptions or dining and can seat 18 boardroom style or 20 theatre style. The area is well lit, carries ample phone, tv and power sockets and has interlined curtains. A flip chart and screen is available free of charge and audio visual equipment can be hired.
