The Glasshouse is owned by Nigel Platts-Martin and Bruce Poole, the partnership behind Chez Bruce in Wandsworth and La Trompette in Chiswick. Since it opened in 1999, The Glasshouse has delivered a dining experience of the highest quality in comfortable and relaxed surroundings.
By paying close attention to detail, the restaurant continually strives to provide food, wine and service that exceed expectations and represent excellent value for money.
The restaurant’s many awards are an indication that it is successful in its aims. More important are the numerous loyal customers who return time after time.
The food at The Glasshouse is based on classical French cuisine, but also draws upon the cooking of Spain and Italy. The light, modern European style ranges from rustic to refined, but is always focused on flavour.
A typical menu might include simple yet elegant braised dishes such as a navarin of lamb, but also offers more complex assemblies including an assiette of pork with fillet, belly and cheeks served with an apple and choucroute tart, or the signature ‘salad of wood pigeon with truffled egg’. Fish may take the form of roast sea bass with butternut squash broth, Provencal vegetables and sage beurre noisette.
Desserts often feature fruits, such as a rich and creamy home made yoghurt with summer berries, or a champagne and fruit trifle.
