A highly-rated member of the team at Crowne Plaza London – Docklands has been nominated for a prestigious industry award after steering the hotel through tough economic conditions.
Revenue Manager Kirsten Cameron has been nominated for the Revenues Award at this year’s Hotel Catey Awards in London.
Kirsten is amongst a select few in line to be honoured at the highly anticipated event, which celebrates the achievements of the best people, places and businesses in the hospitality industry.
Her nomination came for after she skilfully navigated the hotel through a difficult period for London’s hospitality industry.
While other hotels in London suffered due to the drop in the value of the Euro and the UK General Election, Crowne Plaza London - Docklands enjoyed some of the best months it has ever had in its 13 year history.
Using what has been described as a “remarkable understanding of the market,” Kirsten has also overseen an overall £2 million uplift in revenue in her five years at the hotel.
Daniel Loosley, General Manager of Crowne Plaza London - Docklands, said: “We are incredibly lucky to have a Revenues Manager as capable as Kirsten, and her nomination represents years of dedication and hard work in helping the hotel go from strength to strength.
“This year in particular has been superbly managed from a revenue point of view to the extent that the hotel managed to smash its own record for a single month, leaving the competition trailing.”
Kirsten has also taken on the role of Charity Champion at the hotel, and has rallied the whole team with various activities during the year, raising a total of £5,200.
She will be amongst around 50 individuals and venues from across the meetings, hospitality and events industry shortlisted for awards at this year’s Catey Awards.
