Flemings Mayfair has partnered with charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer to offer Pink Afternoon Tea for a limited time during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. To support the charity’s latest initiative, the Great Pink Bake Off, for all those who quote ‘Pink Tea’ on booking a Flemings afternoon tea and wear something pink upon arrival, Flemings will give 10% of the total cost to the charity.
Sian Fraser, Head Baker of Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s Great Pink Bake Off says, “It’s great that we’ve partnered with Flemings to raise awareness for the Great Pink Bake Off. There’s no better way to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness month than a Pink Afternoon Tea at Flemings. We’re delighted the hotel is going to donate 10% of the proceeds to our charity.”
Along with Pink Afternoon Tea, Flemings’ general manager Oliver Brown is running his second half marathon in 2013 on 6 October, in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Oliver says: “With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month and also the month I run my second half marathon in aid of the charity, we thought it was an ideal partnership teaming up with Breakthrough Breast Cancer. We want to help this charity in any way we can and thought creating this Pink Afternoon Tea and giving 10% of the proceeds to charity was the perfect way to do so. I hope the hotel and I can raise as much money as we possibly can for a great cause.”
Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s Great Pink Bake Off will take place on Friday 18 October and encourages friends, family and colleagues to share home-made treats and ask everyone who attends to make a donation. If October 18 doesn’t work, then you can hold a Bake Off anytime, anywhere, during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Afternoon Tea at Flemings includes a selection of freshly made sandwiches, petit fours, cupcakes, light fluffy scones with jam and clotted cream and a glass of Champagne. Guests and afternoon tea fans alike can indulge in this luxurious tea that oozes sophistication and glamour with an informal, relaxed atmosphere in the heart of Mayfair, whilst giving something back to a great cause.
