New Look, New Menu at Neighbourhood Favourite, London House

London House new menuLondon House – part of the Gordon Ramsay Group – Battersea’s premiere neighbourhood restaurant has loosened its tie with a more relaxed décor, a range of flexible menus from new head chef George Lyon, and a variety of events that range from kids eat free through to wine at retail prices on Wednesdays.

A quintessential local restaurant, there’s something for everyone whatever the time of the day – indulge in a traditional Sunday lunch with the family, soak up some rays in the garden terrace with a chilled glass of white, or enjoy a local brew and a light bite after work in the bar.


Head Chef George Lyon’s versatile menu is packed with comforting British dishes. The set lunch menu at £15 and £20 for two and three courses respectively features choices such as soup of the day, honey roast ham with warm piccalilli and colcannon mash and rhubarb and warm custard doughnuts. Other choices o the lunch and dinner menu  plump Cornish mussels in a deep green garlic butter and lemon sole served with samphire and shrimps with a half chicken and 10oz ribeye and onglet steaks available from the grill.

The relaxed vibe of London House suits leisurely weekend get-togethers with friends and family. Every weekend from noon until 5pm on Saturday and 9pm on Sundays, there’s bottomless Prosecco for just £15 when ordering a brunch dish such as Eggs Benedict, Waldorf salad or grilled steak. Sunday lunch also sees a rotating selection of sharing roasts that might include a classic Beef Wellington, Dingley Dell pork rack or slow-cooked lamb shoulder, each served with piles of seasonal greens, roasted spuds and root vegetables with a generous splashing of jus for just £19.50 per head. You can even bring the pooch and there’s a bowl of dog biscuits on the house.

Little ones are more than welcome with kids eat free* every day of the week. With the kitchen open weekdays from noon and weekends from 10am, drop by for an early supper after school, lunchtime during the holidays or brunch with hearty junior dishes such as chicken and mash or pasta and parmesan.

The comfy lounge bar, complete with fireplace and slow slung tables laden with the morning papers, is open for light bites or just a casual drink.

Wine lovers will welcome the innovative London House wine list that reads like a leisurely world tour, from Tenterden in Kent, through Europe and the Mediterranean, to the Americas and back via the Antipodes, and is particularly strong on lesser-known native grapes. Cocktails such as the Vodka Vanilla Sour and Clementine Daiquiri sit alongside ciders and local ales on tap and by the bottle.  For the health-conscious, there’s a range super-vitamin smoothies that blend vegetables and fruits in super-charged combinations whilst bar snacks that range from handmade venison scotch eggs to crispy-soft potato skins will keep hunger at bay.

Don’t miss ‘Wine Wednesdays’ when guest can enjoy wine at retail prices meaning you can pick up a Puglian Fiano Sauvignon Blanc at the unbelievable price of £7.50 per 750ml bottle.  And with Thursdays the new Friday, beer lovers have reason to rejoice. ‘Thirsty Thursdays’ at London House means you can enjoy unlimited pints with a bar snack of choice for £15 from noon until 11pm.


Those planning a party will be spoilt for choice, with a selection of group dining menus and spaces available across the venue and garden terrace. London House boasts a wedding licence and is the perfect South West London venue for intimate ceremonies and wedding breakfasts.
