Ian commenced his career as a trainee manager with De Vere Hotels in Eastbourne, subsequently moving to the privately owned Selsdon Park Hotel in Surrey. From there he then worked internationally in Zimbabwe for Zimbabwe Sun Hotels in Troutbeck and Harare, before moving to Qatar as Director of Food and Beverage at the Doha Renaissance Hotel. Ian then returned to the UK as Food and Beverage Manager at the Copthorne Hotel London Gatwick. In 1988, Ian Joined Bass Hotels as Deputy General Manager at the Holiday Inn Heathrow, from where he progressed in the company to a number of General Management roles with the Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza brands. In 2000, Ian moved to Marriott International as General Manager of the Bournemouth High cliff Marriott, and subsequently as a cluster General Manager for 6 hotels in the East of England and then 7 hotels in the South East. His latest role is General Manager of the 5 star London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square.
