Northern Restaurant & Bar, the North’s biggest hospitality exhibition, takes place on 17 & 18 March 2015 at Manchester Central with over 270 exhibitors showcasing thousands of products alongside over 50 live demos in 4 different theatres.

Headline demos include Daniel Clifford of Midsummer House, Sipsmith’s Jared Brown and Nacho Manzano & Cesar Garcia of Iberica. There’s also a national cocktail competition hosted by Gabriel Boudier, a Craft Beer Village and over 70 spirit brands, the largest selection outside London, on display.

In a UK first, we are delighted to welcome Nick Lander, author of the prestigious book ‘The Art of The Restaurateur’, to discuss the universal rules of running a restaurant, and how they apply to the booming Northern hospitality scene.

Taking place at Northern Restaurant & Bar on March 17 this compelling Q&A, chaired by the event’s CEO, Thom Hetherington, will be a unique opportunity for passionate hospitality professionals to hear Nick discuss his thoughts on the universal rules of running restaurants, distilled from conversations with the world’s most prestigious operators. In writing the book Nick, the Financial Times restaurant critic for over 25 years, met restaurateurs including Danny Meyer in New York, Russell Norman in London and Neil Perry in Sydney, but as a proud Mancunian he is delighted to have an excuse to come ‘home’. “I’m thrilled to be invited to speak at the NRB Debate, and delighted to return to the city that first titillated my tastebuds.” he says. “The region’s food and drink scene is clearly blossoming so it will be fascinating to discuss the Art of the Restaurateur and its application in the North.”
